GRRN Young Researchers Award

At its second international summit, GRRN is proud to introduce the GRRN Young Researchers Award for excellent and innovative work and ideas in the broad field of resilience conducted by the most promising young members of our network. We are happy to support the efforts of our young members by raising awareness for their work, and to acknowledge their contribution to the interdisciplinary research field of resilience.

We would like to invite all young scientists working in the broad field of resilience research to apply for the GRRN Young Researchers Award.

Eligibility Criteria​

  • You are a researcher at a member organization of GRRN or any other organization with a solid track record in resilience research with respect to adverse events like terrorism, natural disasters, technical disasters etc.

  • You are currently working on your PhD or a comparable scientific project, the ideas and results of which you wish to discuss with some of the world’s leading resilience researchers.

 

Application – closed!

  • Please provide us with an extended abstract (500 words max.) on your work and how it relates to the mission of GRRN. You need to write short paragraphs on the following:

    • Research question and research results so far

    • Project and project structure

    • Relation to GRRN mission

  • Please provide us with a short CV, including publications

  • Please send your application as one PDF file via email to: GRRNaward@emi.fraunhofer.de

 

Selection process

  • Out of all applications, the best 10 abstracts will be selected and their authors will be invited to send in a short video of three minutes to pitch for a slot of the best five.

  • The best five applicants will be invited to present their research within the Young Researchers Session at GRRN Summit

 

Reward

  • Successful applicants will thus be invited to the GRRN Summit (no participation fee), including reimbursement of travel costs* (*According to the German Travel Expenses Act (Bundesreisekostengesetz, BRKG))

  • At the GRRN Summit, the best applicant will be publicly announced and rewarded with the GRRN Young Researches Trophy
